Hotel architectural lighting design can not only highlight the overall style of the hotel, but also enhance the brand value, increase the customer's experience, and enhance the hotel's revenue generation. Therefore, the role of different functional areas is often considered in the lighting design of hotel buildings, so as to choose suitable hotel lamps and reasonable lighting designs to create different spatial effects. Thus, what are the design tips? Aero will share with you below.

Tip 1: Use direct lighting

With the development of electric light sources and commercial lighting manufacturing technology, direct lighting has been able to avoid the harm of uncomfortable glare to vision. Therefore, unless there are decorative requirements, do not use various types of light-emitting troughs that waste light and are inconvenient to maintain, and try to use direct lighting.

Tip 2: Make reasonable use of the relationship between color temperature and illuminance

LED architectural lighting generally makes use of the matching relationship between illuminance and color temperature to create a suitable space atmosphere carefully. For example, the color temperature and illuminance should be matched in proportion, that is, high illuminance, high color temperature, and vice versa. Many hotel architectural lighting design habits are often that the color temperature is high, but the illumination is generally low, so it is easy to fall into a gloomy atmosphere, and it is necessary to avoid such embarrassment as much as possible.

Tip 3: Achieve uniform color temperature and tone

The key to hotel architectural lighting is to achieve uniform color temperature and tone. The use of light sources with the same color temperature can avoid the clutter of light and color. The same functional area, surface, and object use a light source with the same color temperature so that the color tone of the light environment is unified. As far as the hotel lighting design is concerned, since the emphasis is not on conflict and drama, the unified color tone is in line with the characteristics of the hotel. The color temperature value of Aero products is basically between 2700-4000K, which is specially developed for the use of the color temperature range of five-star hotels.

Tip 4: Pay attention to the color rendering index of the light source

As indoor architectural lighting takes into account the comfort of guests, the color rendering index of the light source will be highly valued. The color rendering index is 14 kinds of colors, R1~R14, stipulated by CIE (International Commission on illumination), and the Chinese light source color rendering evaluation method has additionally added the skin color of Asian women to 15 kinds, namely R1 ~ R15. Among them, R1 to R8 are called typical color rendering indices, and the average of these 8 typical color rendering indices is what we often call Ra, that is, the average color rendering index. R9~R15 are called special color rendering index, of which R9 is saturated red, which is an indicator to measure the ability of the light source to restore the red color of the object, that is, the larger the value of R9, the higher the ability of the light source to restore the red color of the object. A light source with a CRI of 90+, which is the basic standard for all Aero products.

Tip 5: Choose the right light distribution

Hotel architectural lighting needs to identify the light distribution parameters such as the luminous intensity distribution, central luminous intensity, and half luminous intensity of the light distribution curve to avoid the loss of luminous flux in two aspects. For example, the lobby of a hotel is usually located on the podium of the building. The ceiling is usually very high, and it is very common to have a height of more than 6m. Use luminaires with narrow beam angles and long projection distances to prevent the upper part from being very bright. However, the ground and the activity area of people 1m from the ground are not bright enough; on the contrary, if such a light distribution is used in an area with a low ceiling such as a guest room, the ground will be very bright, and the vertical plane illumination will be insufficient.
